Tom Gentile, Chairman, CEO and President of Hexcel, Named SAMPE 2027 Keynote Speaker
Advanced materials and aerospace leader to take the stage at SAMPE 2027, May 17–20 in Salt Lake City
SAMPE North America is pleased to announce Tom Gentile, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Hexcel Corporation, as a keynote speaker for SAMPE 2027, taking place May 17–20, 2027, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The early keynote announcement sets the stage for SAMPE 2027 and reflects the caliber of leadership and breadth of technical relevance the event will bring together. Gentile leads one of the world’s foremost advanced composites companies, with technologies supporting commercial aerospace, defense and space, and industrial applications.
His participation also reflects what distinguishes the SAMPE community: bringing together materials innovation, engineering, manufacturing and the industries putting advanced technologies to work.
About Tom Gentile
Gentile has served as President and CEO of Hexcel Corporation since May 2024 and was appointed Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors in December 2024.
Prior to joining Hexcel, Gentile was President and CEO of Spirit AeroSystems, a global supplier of structures for commercial aerospace and defense platforms.
Earlier in his career, Gentile spent 19 years at GE, where his leadership roles included President and Chief Operating Officer of GE Capital, President and CEO of GE Healthcare Systems, and President and CEO of GE Aviation Services. He has also held leadership and strategy roles with McKinsey & Company, CBS and General Motors.
Gentile serves on the board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors of RPM International Inc. and is a member of the Board of Governors for the Wings Club. He is an Emeritus Board Member of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum and serves on the Executive Committee of the Aerospace Industries Association, where he previously served as Chair.
Gentile earned his bachelor’s degree in economics magna cum laude and an MBA from Harvard University and studied international relations at the London School of Economics.
