SAMPE 2020 is a full-scale technical conference and Exhibition featuring the latest technologies and research advancements concerning the advanced materials and processes community. SAMPE 2020 is where the Advanced Materials community meets - the only place where you come face-to-face with the industry's most influential decision makers.

Airport Information

Attendees are advised to fly into Charlotte Douglas International Airport. 

Taxis can be picked-up at the airport, lower level baggage claim area.  To the Center City, the ride is approximately 15-25 minutes depending on time of day.   

 

Taxis, Limos, Town Cars & Ride Sharing

Taxis and ride-sharing companies (Uber & Lyft) are available at the airport.  One-way rides between the airports and the convention center range from $7-$30, depending on the distance. Customers can prearrange shuttle service by contacting one of the various providers on the visitor information boards located in Baggage Claim. You can also view a listing of transportation companies that are licensed to provide transportation services at Limousine and Shuttle Service Providers.
 

Driving Directions

Centrally located in the Queen City’s Uptown, the Charlotte Convention Center is easily accessible from Interstate 85, Interstate 77 and U.S. Highway 74. Plus, with the building’s two entrances, College Street and East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, you can find convenient parking in a garage or lot close to or connected to the Convention Center.
 

  • From I-85 DRIVING SOUTH FROM POINTS NORTH OF CHARLOTTE. 01. Take Brookshire Freeway (Highway 16 South), Exit 36. 02. Merge right onto the I-277 loop (John Belk Freeway). 03. Take Stonewall Street, Exit 1E. 04. Turn left on Stonewall Street and proceed 3 blocks. 05. The Charlotte Convention Center will be on your right after you cross Brevard Street. DRIVING NORTH FROM POINTS SOUTH OF CHARLOTTE. 01. Take Little Rock Road, Exit 32. 02. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp. 03. Turn right at the first traffic light. 04. Turn left at the 2nd traffic light onto Wilkinson Boulevard (Hwy 74 East). 05. Follow Wilkinson Boulevard as it becomes the I-277 loop (John Belk Freeway). 06. Take College Street, Exit 1E. 07. The Charlotte Convention Center will be on your right after you cross Stonewall Street. 08. There are two entrances to the Charlotte Convention Center, one is located on College Street and a second on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The NASCAR Hall of Fame parking deck, located at 500 S. Brevard St. is also connected to the Charlotte Convention Center via a convenient overstreet walkway. From I-77 DRIVING SOUTH FROM POINTS NORTH OF CHARLOTTE. 01. Take the 1-277 loop (John Belk Freeway), Exit 9. 02. Take College Street, Exit 1E. 03. The Charlotte Convention Center will be on your right after you cross Stonewall Street.

The Charlotte Convention Center will be on your right after you cross Stonewall Street. 04. There are two entrances to the Charlotte Convention Center, one is located on College Street and a second on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The NASCAR Hall of Fame parking deck, located at 500 S. Brevard S. is also connected to the Charlotte Convention Center via a convenient overstreet walkway. From U.S. Highway 74 (Wilkinson Boulevard on the West and Independence Boulevard on the East) DRIVING EAST FROM POINTS WEST OF CHARLOTTE. 01. Follow Wilkinson Boulevard (Hwy 74 East) as it becomes the I-277 loop (John Belk Freeway). 02. Take College Street, Exit 1E. 03. The Charlotte Convention Center will be on your right after you cross Stonewall Street. DRIVING WEST FROM POINTS EAST OF CHARLOTTE. 01. Follow Independence Boulevard (Hwy 74 West) and merge left onto the I-277 loop (John Belk Freeway). 02. Take Stonewall Street, Exit 1E. 03. Turn left onto Stonewall Street and proceed 3 blocks. 04. The Charlotte Convention Center will be on your right after you cross Brevard Street. 05. There are two entrances to the Charlotte Convention Center, one is located on College Street and a second on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.   • The Charlotte Convention Center has parking spaces around the Center in several different parking garages and ground level lots.  Rates vary by lot and event and are in effect seven days a week.  See the attached map, Convention Center Parking Map.

We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media. Those who choose to consume alcoholic beverages are expected to do so responsibly and in consideration of the consequences to self, others, and the community-at-large. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Conference Program Types

Tutorials - Held on Monday, May 20, Tutorials these three-hour courses fully immerse attendees in a single area of focus. Start your Conference experience the right way with these special courses that establish a foundation for enhanced learning and understanding throughout the conference. 

 

Technical Paper Presentations - Technical Paper presentations are 25-minute presentations based on an approved Technical Paper. Each individual presentation is considered a Conference Program. Conference registration is required for access. Show Sampler registrants need to use one Ticket per presentation.

 

Featured Presentations - Featured Presentations are special invited presentations that are 45-minutes in length. Conference registration is required for access. Show Sampler registrants need to use one Ticket per lecture. 

 

Panels - Panels are 1.5 - 3 hour programs in which panelists present and take audience questions. Conference registration is required for access. Show Sampler registrants need to use one Ticket per panel. 
 

Keynote Presentation - The opening Keynote presentation takes place on Tuesday, May 21 and is open to all badged attendees. ​
 

Thursday Awards Breakfast Presentation - The The Thursday Awards Breakfast presentation takes place on Thursday, May 23. Tickets can be purchased separately.
